Education is key for nation building. A good education system not only increases literacy rates but also produces good results for a nation. Pakistan like many other developing countries is facing many problem in education sector. Countries like Pakistan where extremism, poverty, child labor, unemployment are increasing, education becomes very important. Unfortunately our education system is not good as it should be. We are lacking behind in this field even other poor developing countries too.
There are many problems and hurdles that are not allowing our education system to improve. Pakistan have a poor infrastructure of schools and labs. Not enough proper rooms for students to sit and if schools have rooms then not up to the mark. Most of children at primary or high level schools have to take lectures by sitting outside in playing grounds. In case of bad weather, student have to take leave as there is no other option due to lack of proper roofs. Many government Schools building are there that are of no use but people are using them for their personal storage, for animals etc.
Teachers are key in any education system. Well educated and trained teachers can changed the destiny of this country but unfortunately we are lacking behind in this field as well. We do not have much qualified, trained and passionate teachers. Political influence, nepotism are denting our education system. Most of teachers are under educated. We do not have proper training for teachers that guide then how to teach, how to handle students, how to change with changing time. They are not answer able to any one. Government should focus on this issue to eradicate education problems.
A major portion of Pakistani population is living in rural areas where literacy rate is too low. Most of parents are not much educated and so they do not focus much on their children education. They are unaware about importance of education. So when there children do not want to go to schools, they don't take any action about that. Awareness of education in villages can play important role to improve literacy rate. In villages schools are very rare and high schools and colleges are even far away that is another major issue. Government should construct new schools and colleges in villages areas too.
Poverty is another major problem for people of Pakistan and the can not afford expenses of their children education. However the education at primary Schools are not costly at all but the earning of people mostly in villages are very low and their children also have to contribute in it and that's why child labor in Pakistan is very common. Expensive higher education is also a big problem.
There is no good check and balance mechanism for schools and colleges. Teachers are not answerable to any one. We do not have proper labs for technical education. If we have then we do not have good equipment and trained teachers. English is a ghost for many students, so they quite their education because of English language even if the can support academies too.
Last but not least Government should take action to eradicate all these problems and to make this country no less than others.
